Over the air software upgrade
The Quali-TV receivers are able to perform secure software upgrades via the tuner signal. Currently the upgrade for the QS1080IR is available as over-air download from ASTRA 1D (23.5º East, 10.758 GHz, 22.000 MS/s, vertical) . The over-air download for the QS1080IRCI will follow shortly.

4:2:2 Broadcasts and Feeds
If you were not already aware, the QUALI-TV receivers are also compatable with 4:2:2 broadcasts, making it an extreamly desirable receiver for feed hunting.

Accessing the EPG Menu

If your having problems finding out how to access the EPG
just click the 'Blue' button

To exit the EPG click the 'Blue' button once more

How to view Picture in Picture (PiP)

First click the 'PiP' button and then select a channel

Then click the 'Select' button to view PiP

To quit the PiP option click the 'PiP' button and select PiP Off

Now click the 'Select' button to remove the PiP window

If your having problems accessing the PiP
click the 'V-Format' button and try the different options
until you find the one that suits your TV systom.

Download and edit channel list on PC

Use HyperTerminal or a similar program with the XModem 1K protocol, 57600, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no handshake. Choose Upload to copy to the PC, Download to copy from the PC to the QS1080IR.
However the file is in a format that can’t be edited in a text editor. The feature is mainly intended for retailers so they need to program a receiver only once, and can then copy the database from the PC to other receivers.

No Quali-TV software tool exists yet for editing the database.

How to pause a programme
While watching any programme click the 'Select' button to pause
to return back to normal viewing mode press the 'Select' button again

HD5
HD5 is Euro1080’s HDTV demo and instruction channel,
repeating partially unscrambled one hour of content.
HD5 shows:
• 4 x 12 minutes per hour: city trip images, interludes,
content that Euro1080 and its partners wish to air to
demonstrate the superior image quality of HDTV.
• 4 x 3 minutes per hour: instructive information about
the quality and possibilities of HDTV.

UK viewers can access HD1 all day long.
You can access HD5 only in the morning until 12:00.
Only people who live in Belgium, Croatia, Latvia & Poland
can access HD2/HD5 all day.
